Finding the Right Balance

Medication can be a powerful tool in your mental health journey, but it is rarely the only answer. I believe that medication works best when it's part of a comprehensive plan that includes understanding your story, your lifestyle, and your personal goals.

As a dually board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner, I approach medication management with a focus on safety, efficacy, and your overall well-being. I am committed to helping you understand your options so you can make informed decisions about your care.

My Philosophy on Prescribing

Conservative & Careful

I prioritize starting with the lowest effective dose to minimize side effects while maximizing benefits. We go at a pace that is comfortable for you.

Evidence-Based

My recommendations are grounded in the latest clinical research and guidelines. I focus on medications with proven safety profiles and low risks of dependency.

Collaborative Decisions

You are the expert on your body. I will explain the "why" and "how" of any medication, empowering you to be an active partner in your treatment plan.

Holistic Integration

We will discuss how medication interacts with other aspects of your health, including sleep, nutrition, and physical activity, to support your total wellness.

What to Expect

  • Comprehensive Evaluation: Our first session is a deep dive into your history, current symptoms, and past experiences with medication.
  • Clear Education: I will provide detailed information about potential benefits, side effects, and what to expect as you start a new medication.
  • Ongoing Monitoring: Regular follow-up appointments allow us to track your progress, adjust dosages if needed, and ensure the medication is working effectively for you.
  • Deprescribing Support: If your goal is to eventually stop medication, we can work together on a safe, gradual plan to taper off when appropriate.
Note on Controlled Substances: As a telehealth provider, I adhere to strict safety guidelines and generally do not prescribe controlled substances (such as benzodiazepines or stimulants) as a first-line treatment. My focus is on long-term, sustainable solutions for anxiety and mood disorders.
